Ngwenya to SK Austria

Joseph Ngwenya has signed with Austrian Bundesliga team SK Austria today, according to goal.com. Ngwenya who helped the Houston Dynamo win the MLS cup last year, signed a 1 year deal with an option for a further year.

Ngwenya was drafted by the Los Angeles Galaxy in 2004 only to be traded to the Columbus Crew in 2006 (Kyle Martino and Ned Grabavoy, how's that working out for the Galaxy?) Ngwenya then signed a deal with the Houston Dynamo in 2007, scoring 7 goals in 25 appearances.

Joseph Ngwenya we will miss those chubby cheeks.

Correction: LA Galaxy Sign Babayaro not Barbaro

Publish Post
Apparently the LA Galaxy has not signed the dead Kentucky Derby winner, but in fact has signed the former Newcastle United left back, Celestine Babayaro. Apologies to Babayaro. If Babayaro doesn't work out for the Galaxy defense he sure does fit the role for concession stand / security at the Home Depot Center.

LA Galaxy Signs a Race Horse!?!

Not only did they sign a race horse to play defense, but a dead one at that. According to several media reports the Los Angeles Galaxy has signed 2006 Kentucky Derby winner Barbaro. Barbaro was supposedly euthanized on January 29 2007, but I guess that wasn't the case.

LA Says "We Don't Want You Here" to Magic

No, not HIV Magic... but Polish Magic.

After a failed stint with Celtic Maciej "Magic" Zurawski appears to be heading to the MLS after all, but not to the LA Galaxy. GM Alexi Lalas has denied any negotiations with Zurawski as other media reports stated that Celtic was asking for a high transfer price. Now with the transfer window about to close it looks like Celtic will lower there price and has now attracted interest from the Columbus Crew.
